Thank you for your interest in the Parkwood Weekday Early Education Center. The WEE Center is a ministry of Parkwood Baptist Church in Annandale Virginia. We offer a quality pre-school program for children 18 months of age to 5 years old.
The WEE Center is conveniently located on Braddock Road near Burke Lake
Road intersection. It is easily accessible to neighborhoods
located near Braddock Road in the Annandale, Burke, Springfield
and Fairfax.
The WEE Center has
been in operation for 35 years. It began as a Mother's Day Out
that grew quickly into a preschool. Once a preschool was
established, a curriculum published through Lifeway publications, WEE LEARN,
was chosen. Since then it has provided a well-balanced hands-on
learning tool for the children attending the WEE Center. The
written curriculum gives teachers the tools they need to prepare
developmentally stimulating classroom lessons. Each child is
encouraged to learn at his or her own pace through a balance of
teacher-guided and independent activities. The goal of the
program is the to meet the needs of each child; socially, emotionally,
physically, academically, and spiritually. It is our goal to
have each child develop a love of learning and working with
others.
The WEE Center is not a
program just about the children; we are here for the parents too!
Evening family activities, newsletters and daily up-dates give parents
support and information about the preschoolers developmental
process. Whenever possible, we work with the parents to provide
information and support. We are working with families to get
children ready for life, not just kindergarten.
Call us at (703) 978-8163 for more information.
God Bless,
Lori Kirkland
